The Land Locked Surfer Cafe is an extension of the student run business Salt of the Earth (soon to be Salt and Vinegar Syndicate). East Hollywood students have the opportunity to participate in a summer program to learn transition skills to prepare them for adulthood and business skills. Students who complete the summer program then can participate in making and selling season salts & pickles at local farmers markets. Students learn all aspects of managing a business. They gain customer service skills and work experience they can place on a resume'.
